D23 is almost upon us and as a Disney fan one of the highlights of the entire year! In the lead up to the event there have been a whole host of rumours and speculation as to what comes next in the Disney Universe, so we thought it was time to share just some of our D23 wishes and what we would like to see announced in an ideal world.

Marvel Wanda Scarlet Witch Solo Movie/Project Announcement
Now I won’t be the first to say this and I certainly won’t be the last either, but I can’t get enough of Wanda and we need more Scarlet Witch sooner rather than later even if the events of Doctor Strange 2 seemingly hinted at a demise for the former Avenger.
We already know that there’s an Agatha Harkness Coven of Chaos Disney Plus show on the way so this could act as a reintroduction of Wanda to the Marvel universe especially with the show seemingly revolving around Chaos magic and Wanda being one of the few to wield chaos magic. Whilst we might be big fans of Agatha (how could you not be) we want to see another Wanda project all of her own which could either see Wanda once again level up to be the ultimate big bad or follow Wanda as she looks for redemption post Multiverse. Ideally a movie would be the ultimate gift after the huge hype surrounding the character but we wouldn’t rule out a Disney Plus series especially if it means we get to spend more time with the character. The chances of a Scarlet Witch project do seem low on the card right now but given that Marvel’s phase six only has a handful of revealed movies at the moment NEVER SAY NEVER!
Disney Dreamlight Valley Content Roadmap & Updates
Disney’s Dreamlight Valley may have literally only just dropped but we’re already completely and utterly obsessed and want the Dreamlight goodies to keep on coming. The Disney & Marvel Video Games showcase is set to take part over the D23 celebrations and we have no doubt that Dreamlight Valley will participate in the celebrations in one way or another so why not give the fans a few nuggets to keep them coming back for more.
Traditionally video games showcases provide fans with a roadmap of development updates for the future of a videogame title and given the sheer amount of IPs under Disney’s Umbrella Gameloft and Disney could realistically keep the content coming for years to come. It doesn’t hurt to dream but we personally would love to see some of the forgotten IPs like Treasure Planet and Atlantis enter the game, especially given that both IPs fit perfectly with Dreamlight Valley’s narrative. Other IPs we would love to see included are Maleficent, Encanto, Enchanted and the Nightmare Before Christmas just to name a few.
Little Mermaid Live Action Movie Trailer
It feels like forever and a day since we last had a nugget of live action Little Mermaid news, but what better way to get fans hyped than with some reveals at D23. In an ideal world we would get a full first look trailer but honestly at this point we would be happy with some posters of Ariel and Ursula to finally see how they have been reimagined for the live action adaptation. Back in June earlier this year Melissa McCarthy went on record to say that Halle Bailey’s rendition of one of the title’s scores moved several of the cast and crew to tears with a different take on the number so I know I speak for a lot of us when I say I would love to hear a few bars of the song. If all else fails just let us hear how Melissa fares with the iconic Ursula cackle made famous by the late great Pat Carroll.
Disneyland Paris & Walt Disney Studio Parks Updates
Earlier this year Disney unveiled the first of many new changes set to take over Disneyland Paris with the opening of the Avengers Campus over at the Walt Disney Studio Park, so with that in mind we would love to see what the future holds for the often overlooked resorts over in Paris.
In a series of concept art unveiled back in 2018 it was revealed that Disneyland Paris was to receive it’s very own version of Galaxy’s Edge, but after it’s initial rocky reception over in California and Florida it looks as though the plans may have been altered or removed altogether in recent years. If the Star Wars area has been cancelled I don’t expect we’ll receive words along those lines but it would be exciting to know what could be replacing it. It would also be cool to get some new concept art for the upcoming Frozen areas which are bound to be a huge hit given the blockbuster success of the series.
Ahsoka Teaser Trailer
Disney Plus has already given us so much Star Wars goodness with the likes of The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan and The Book of Boba Fett adding hours upon hours of lore to the already gigantic franchise. Later this month Andor is set to make it’s debut on the platform and whilst we’re eagerly anticipating it’s arrival we don’t expect D23 to expand too much with the promotion for the show and instead focus on upcoming Star Wars titles. We already know that Mando season 3, Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte just to name a few are in the works but we would love to get some updates on one of the most beloved characters Ahsoka. Whilst we don’t expect there will much to go on visually we are expecting to get a few casting announcements for characters such as Grand Admiral Thrawn and the rumoured Ezra Bridger.
Disney 100th Celebration Announcements
2023 signals Disney’s iconic and legendary 100th anniversary in what is bound to be an epic celebration of all things Mickey Mouse and Disney so what better way to celebrate both D23 and 100th years of Disney than by announcing some plans on how Mickey and his friends intend to celebrate. We have no doubt that announcements after announcements will be made over the coming months but what better place to make some historic reveals than the ultimate Disney fan event. Over the last few months it has been rumoured that Disneyland is set to receive a new nighttime ‘spectacular’ by the name of ‘Wondrous’ celebrating 100 years of Disney so fingers crossed we at least get an official confirmation. Speaking of nighttime spectaculars it’s no secret that Disney World’s Enchantment display didn’t go down as initially anticipated and seemed to lack a little of the Disney magic we all know and love so we wouldn’t mind the announcement of a replacement or even more additions to the show as seen in recent weeks. With so many magical moments over the legendary 100 years there is so much that Disney could do and we can’t wait to get the party started, here’s hoping the party starts at D23.
Mini D23 Wishes
Okay this might be cheating a little considering we said we were only documenting five of our dream D23 reveals but we just couldn’t help ourselves, this is Disney afterall. Instead of going into too much detail we just wanted to throw out a few little nuggets just in a bid to wish them into existence.
