The historic celebrations will see David Tennant return to the role as ‘The Doctor’ with former companion Donna Noble making a shock return to the show once again played by Catherine Tate. When the 60th celebrations come to a close Ncuti Gatwa will take over the role of the Doctor as the timelord enters his 15th incarnation.

Speaking on the historic partnership between Disney and BBC showrunner Russell T Davies had the following to say:
“I love this show, and this is the best of both worlds – with the vision and joy of the BBC and Disney+ together we can launch the TARDIS all around the planet, reaching a new generation of fans while keeping our traditional home firmly on the BBC in the UK.”
